The revolutionary, patent-pending Drivelock design in collaboration with Icon Defense, uses three independent wedges that interface with the angular grooves in our proprietary barrel nut. This system clamps the rail onto the steel barrel nut with extreme force and precision, while also driving the handguard rearward towards the upper receiver. The slightly larger ID of that extrusion gives us more real estate around the gas block, even more rigidity than the M76, and takes longer to heat.

M89
Replaced a 14" MI rail that, although was lighter in weight, had far too much flex when loaded. This rail also handles heat much better, which I assume is due to the heavier frame, barrel nut and larger inner diameter. Even though this was purchased as a blem, there was no discernable blemish that my untrained eye could spot. Not my first SOLGW purchase, nor my last.
