This lower receiver was jointly designed with Forward Controls Design, and pairs perfectly with a number of their enhanced control parts.
The LRF (Lower Receiver, FCD) is a billet 7075-T6 receiver with several modifications added to improve use. Features include:
- Flared Magazine Well for easier magazine insertion
- Raised fence to protect an optionally installed ambi magazine release, such as the EMR-A.
- Countersunk takedown pin hole on the left hand side, for easier disassembly.
- Integral trigger guard with no gap between the grip and trigger guard geometry.
- Enlarged magazine button fencing, to guard against accidental activation.
- Integrated Ambi bolt release, for rapid reloading.
The LRF lower receiver has our Rebellious Stripes design on the left side, and the FCD Cygnus logo on the Right. It includes the proprietary components for the ambi bolt release, and is compatible with all other standard lower parts kits. Due to the already enlarged magazine well, aftermarket magazine funnel attachments are unlikely to fit.

USAbsolute fine American quality.
This is exceptional American work I’ve come to expect from Texas. I’m building a solid family AR. All my kids are lefty’s, so I want to make sure they have a good quality rifle to pass around and learn on. SOLGW & FCD is a great pairing, proud owner of this lower!
US United StatesAnnoying mag release fencing
Nice looks, good finish. Only problem is the tight fencing around the magazine release button makes it difficult for people with long or large fingers to use. The fencing on the top is right up against the mag release button, which is understandable because of the ambi bolt release, but the fencing on the magwell side is also much tighter than a standard forged lower. This requires the user to be much more precise about how they place their finger on the button to press it. I have to curl my finger a bit to place the tip of my finger directly on the button, rather than just slapping the button with a straight finger on a forged lower. This may not be an issue for people with smaller hands, but it's enough of an annoyance for me that I'm considering selling the lower or just using it for a range toy instead of the serious use build I intended it for. Everything else about the lower is great. SOLGW moving the fencing just a couple millimeters forward would resolve the above complaints.
